British student Sally Cluley flew into the record books when she became the youngest qualified pilot in Britain! Sally passed her flying test back in August when she was just 16 years old, and received her private license on her birthday in September.

After graduating from school, Sally wants to join the RAF ( Royal Air Force), and help defeat the U.K. She joined a training squadron at RAF Birstall in 2006, and earned almost 50 flying hours’ worth of instruction with the youth-oriented Air Training Corps. “Flying just seemed to come naturally to me,” said sally. “It makes me feel as free as a bird.” She wants to be a commercial pilot instead if she can’t make it into the RAF.
